JOIN US WITH AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR CHILD AND THE MEIGS COMMUNITY Having your child at Meigs is important to you. You’ve demonstrated this in the effort you made to secure a spot in this academic magnet school. You’ve demonstrated this in your efforts to arrange a variety of transportation resources to get them to and from school each day from locations near and far. You are here and part of this vibrant academic community. Now we are asking you—fellow parents and guardians—to join us in making a financial INVESTment to help enhance the Meigs academic and extracurricular experience that originally drew your family here.
Meigs is a public school. It is publicly funded, but that public funding only goes so far—especially in the State of Tennessee, which ranks 43rd out of 50 states in school funding.
Meigs limits its fundraising to just two major fundraisers. We aren’t in a constant cycle of candy bar sales and car washes. We depend on just two major fundraisers—INVEST Campaign and City Saver. The INVEST Campaign is the largest.
Meigs depends on every gift, no matter the size. We’ve received gifts ranging from $5 to $1,000 in the past. We encourage families who are able to commit $100 or more, but we know this isn’t possible for everyone. What we want to do this year is increase the number of families donating—so please join us with the gift that is possible for your family.
Meigs INVEST makes it easy to give online. You can make a one-time gift or a gift with multiple payments. Making a gift is easy, just select the DONATE TO INVEST button above or visit the Evrits Giving Link.
Meigs INVESTgoes right back into the school—the library, classrooms, the teachers, and students. Recent investments have included:
· new technology like iPad minis and Macs for the computer lab;
· band and string instruments and funds for Mid-State competitions for our beginning and experienced musicians;
· wellness and sports equipment for P.E. classes, sports teams, and after school clubs;
· professional development for teachers and instructional materials classrooms that ensure the creative and excellence in teaching and learning continue at Meigs.
We invite you to start making your online gifts now. For those interested in contributing offline, you will begin seeing INVEST Pledge Cards sent home with your students before the end of August. If you have any questions about the INVEST Campaign, please don’t hesitate to email me.
